Nickel metal hydride

Custom nickel-metal hydride batteries and assemblies are manufactured by Lithium Batteries. We use the latest mechanical and electronic design tools to optimize the reliability, safety and manufacturability of your custom battery packs. This gives you the most cost-effective and reliable nickel-metal hydride battery solution. The cost of NiMH cells and batteries is generally lower than that of rechargeable lithium cells and batteries, and they are not regulated as strictly.

Each nickel-metal hydride battery has its own specifications.

Customized nickel-metal hydride batteries and assemblies

Since the late 1980s, nickel-metal hydride (NiMH) cells have been gaining popularity. Increasing performance has made this chemistry an excellent choice for small, light, portable, and portable battery packs.

Advantages of nickel-metal hydride batteries

Battery and assembly advantages of nickel-metal hydride include no recycling problems, 30 to 40% more capacity than NiCd cells of the same size, and a competitive price (especially compared to lithium-ion)..

Disadvantages of nickel-metal hydride batteries

There are, however, a few downsides to nickel metal hydride. In addition to providing fewer cycles than NiCd, nickel metal hydrides are more complex to charge, may require passive safety devices to protect against short circuits and overheating, and lose their charge twice as fast.

Best Practices for Charging Nickel-Metal Hydride Batteries

NiCds and nickel-metal hydrides prefer constant current charging. Also, the standard charge is C/10 for 14 hours with a timer. With dT / dt (delta temperature / delta time) or termination of peak voltage detection, nickel-metal hydride batteries can be charged in less than an hour; a timer should be used as a backup if the other methods fail.
